Disaster Relief in Ventura
When disaster strikes, the road to recovery can feel impossible. Families lose homes, children lose stability, and entire communities struggle to regain a sense of normal. Sadly, Ventura County knows this reality all too well — from the Thomas Fire to the Hill and Woolsey Fires, and even flooding and mudslides that have displaced neighbors and devastated local families.
The Ventura Downtown Lions Club is committed to stepping up in those moments. With support from Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), we help provide:
• Immediate relief grants that cover food, clothing, and shelter for disaster victims.
• Community recovery support to clean up, repair, and restore daily life.
• Preparedness programs that strengthen Ventura’s resilience against future disasters.
Globally, more than 25 million people are displaced each year by sudden disasters, and the past 50 years have seen a 390% increase in natural disasters. Locally, we have seen how quickly lives can be upended — and how important it is to have support ready when it matters most.
Through LCIF and our Ventura Lions community, we ensure families here at home and around the world receive not just emergency assistance, but also the hope and resources to rebuild.
